Plans for 2026

After all of the work involved in the move from Singer Road to Greenhills Community Hub, 2026 looks like being an exciting year of development for Loaves and Fishes.

We recently converted to become a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) and that sets us up for the future and our plans for our community hub.

We are in the process of completing a full Community Asset Transfer, following the agreement in 2025 for a one year lease. This will give us a long term lease on the property and enable us to do all the work we would like to in order to make the facility even better for our customers and to provide a whole range of new services to our community.

In addition to building work to make our hub sustainable and as carbon neutral as possible we are looking at a range of news services. These include

  1. Smoking cessations services
  2. Advocacy, mental health and wellbeing services
  3. Cooking classes to enable preparation of nutritious meals for families
  4. Free gym lessons
  5. Access to PCs to enable online form completion, preparation of CVs, job applications, etc.
  6. An expansion of our weekly ‘A Space To Talk’ service which involves our partner organisations

This is just the start and as always we see what we provide as more than a bag of food.
